Sound Meter: SPL & noise meter is an entirely free application used to measure the sound level of your surroundings. Noise pollution is a big problem nowadays. Knowing the level of noise pollution in the surrounding space will help you make better choices for your living environment as well as measures to protect your ears.

MEASURING THE SOUND STRENGTH OF THEIR

The application uses the mobile device’s microphone to capture sound, then conducts analysis and measures the sound intensity in your surroundings, especially the space closest to the microphone. The unit of noise intensity is Decibel (dB).

NOISE WARNING

You will conduct sound measurements for a certain period of time. Then Sound Meter will calculate and display different noise levels: Minimum noise level, maximum noise level, average level during measurement. With these indicators, the application will give warnings if the sound index exceeds the allowable limit that the human ear can hear.

RECORDING THE SOUND VARIATION

The information about the sound level during the measurement will be displayed directly on the graph. The histogram will give you the sound intensity for each time period, showing the sound variation from the beginning of the measurement to the end with a picture. This helps you to know if the sound level, while you are measuring, is stable or not.

DETAILS

After measuring the noise in your environment, the application will give you a reference chart of the noise levels of some basic sounds for you to compare. For example, the smallest is breathing (10dB), then the clock sound (20dB), some mediums like the sound of a motorbike is 90dB, the subway is 100dB, and some special sounds as annoying as gunfire up to 140 dB.

HISTORY UPDATE UPDATE

Sound Meter records a history of times you measure sound, with date and time as well as specific noise index information, giving you the most objective comparison between environments.

FLEXIBLE USER SUPPORT

The configuration of the application is also straightforward to use. The application’s day-night mode makes it possible to use it at any time without worrying about the light causing discomfort to the eyes. Storage resources are also low, so it is suitable for all devices.

IMPORTANT NOTES
